The JL Trou (rhymes with now) is a protective and fashionable covering for rowers' butts. Worn to the mid-thigh, you are guaranteed the distinctive rower's tan line. JL trou have a high back (don't you just hate rowing behind people whose shorts reveal that "plumber's smile"??), feature sewn-in elastic with drawstring and reinforced seams, and all are double-seated for comfort!

Unisex: xs-xl, can be made longer or shorter in length

JL Solid Trou--Original or Short Cut. Stock trou are made of Navy or Black Polypropylene/Lycra, and many of our Drywick colors. You can have your solid trou made in any of our fabrics and colors.

JL Speedstriped Trou--Original or Short Cut
A speedstripe is a stretchable trim that is sewn onto the garment. It measures a quarter of an inch wide, and comes in a full range of colors.

JL Pinstriped Trou--Original or Short Cut.

Pinstripes are small accent stripes that are sewn into a seam. A single pinstripe goes down the side seam, double pinstripes are sewn into the seams on either side of a vertical stripe (which can be contrast or match the color of the short).

With this 2" wide sewn-in stripe, you can mix and match any fabric and color. Have your team name silkscreened down the length of the vertical stripe. You can also specify a different stripe width.

Why is there a hole in my trou?

Take a good look inside the original JL Trou. You will see an attention to detail that has made ours the premier rowing short for over two decades.
Notice that there is "non-coverage" at the convergence of the seams at the crotch. We cut out this triangle-shaped section of the pad to avoid a buildup of layers in a sensitive location. You're welcome.
