Our...
Favorite eats near the racecourse:

Little Pete's
2401 Pennsylvania Ave.
Great little diner full of octogenarians- they're fun to eavesdrop on.  Great for greasy eggs and pancakes for breakfast and calzones etc. for lunch and dinner.  It's pretty cheap too.

Mugshots, 2100 Fairmount Ave.
A cute local favorite coffee shop.  Good bagel sandwiches and "lunchier" sandwiches too.  They have some nice comfy couches and very friendly staff.

Sabrina's, 1804 Callowhill St.
Yummy (and creative) comfort food.  AMAZING breakfast and lunch.  Please try their stuff french toast- it's to die for.

To play and see:

Philadelphia Museum of Art,
Free or pay what you want on Sundays!

Eastern State Penetentry tour.
That's right- you can tour the place where Al Capone got his tonsils out (among other things, I'm sure).  Really interesting audio tours available.

Independence Hall and Liberty Bell
You got to visit these American classics while you're in Philly!  Have patience though because the lines there will be long whenever you go.

Reading Terminal Market 12th and Arch St.
This is a cool place to go to see lots of different food and people.  It's a hustly bustly farmers market/crafts fair type experience.
